The Countdown


Start up a countdown until the exact moment or hour of your birth. Or you can even celebrate your birthday the night before, with a countdown until midnight!

Ask mom and dad to buy some legal fireworks and set them off in a safe place for your sweet 16 new years party.

Think about every other party that you have gone to. What was it like? How did everyone dress?

A sweet 16 new years party is a great excuse to get all dolled up and pampered. This is a great sweet 16 theme to make your party formal and very exciting. Ask everyone to dress in formal attire, or a no jeans allowed dress code.

I once went to a James Bond theme new years party and it was the best party that I have ever been to. All the men dressed in black and white suits with suspenders and top hats, and the girls dressed in dazzling party dresses.

So you can always add an extra theme to your sweet 16 new years party theme. Think of cool movies you enjoy, colors, and celebrities. Get creative.



Music


If possible, arrange for a DJ to come in and play some popular dance music and special theme songs.

Or you can even pull out some speakers and put some of your favorite songs on a few cd's.

But remember being "too loud" is too much. If you ave neighbors who will not appreciate all of the commotion, try to keep the music at a lower level.

Have your guests share their new years resolutions and make some fun and harmless bets at who can keep them! Play some resolutions dares and see who is brave!
