Sweet 16 Caribbean Party

Home

Throw a sweet 16 Caribbean party without having to step foot out of the country!

Send out colorful birthday party invitations with the hint of a Caribbean theme. Use images of seashells or a tropical beach.

Encourage a dress code of your party. If you want it tropical, then bright colored clothing must be worn. Encourage your guests to dress in a summer fashion, with long beads, necklaces and sunglasses!

Sweet 16 Caribbean decorations are fun and easy to prepare. Make a cabana out of tons of party streamers or long curtain beads around your dance floor or at the entrance of your party.

Decorate your party with tons of colorful flowers, fake ones are very inexpensive and sold at most dollar stores.

If your sweet 16 birthday is in the warm season, hang some wind chimes outside if you have a backyard. Buy some big beach umbrellas and stick them outside!

Get some blow up palm trees for inside your party. These are important for a good Caribbean feel. You can also make them out of construction paper, or cardboard boxes or paint them on your party banner!

Or, get some pineapples and stack them on top of each other in a large, stern plant. Or even go to your local dollar store and buy some golden palm trees!

Get some bright pink flamingos and set them around your sweet 16 Caribbean party.

Use bright colors in your party decorations like red, yellow, blue and green. Get some balloons, beach balls, steamers and long curtain beads for your party decorations.

Throw beach balls on to your dance floor, they are fun to throw around.

Throw colorful beach towels around your tables and chairs. Find some large seashells and stick them on the tables. Get some grass skirts to put around your tables to give the party a great Caribbean look.

Play some reggae, salsa and other tropical music. Steel drums are also a popular style of Caribbean party music. Beenie Man is a very popular reggae singer.

If you have a fire pit in your back yard, why not have a bon fire? Buy some bamboo sticks and set them around the site.

Stick lemon or lime slices on beverage cups. Stick umbrella toothpicks in drinks and on snacks. Make some fruity colorful drinks for your party. Smoothies are excellent to serve at a party like this or for any chosen sweet 16 themes.

Stick a large centerpiece on your birthday cake like a butterfly or something else tropical.

Set up plenty of tropical fruit platters filled with:

  • Coconut
  • Strawberries
  • Mango slices
  • Papaya
  • Pineapples

  • Why not set up a big buffet of food for your guests. Bake some chicken, get some fish and crab if possible, burgers and hot dogs! Prepare a few different kinds of salads, filled with plenty of delicious vegetables.

Don't forget the veggie platters. They are fun and very inexpensive to prepare, and very healthy for your sweet 16 Caribbean party theme.

Make some gift bags of sunscreen, a pair of cheap sunglasses, and possibly a burnt copy of the music you played at the party.

Have a limbo competition! The winner gets a funny prize like a big beach towel or a pineapple.

Have a volleyball net limbo right on your dance floor! Nets are very affordable.

Have your sweet 16 Caribbean party end in a large conga line out the front door!

So have a blast with an awesome sweet 16 Caribbean party.
