A Black Light Masquerade is basically two of the obvious themes combined into one big great party theme! This is a great party for a formal or semi- formal affair.
You can set up this party anywhere from the basement of your house to a ballroom in a fancy hotel.
This party works out very well because most masquerade theme colors are very bright and ultraviolet, and the mandatory masks that your guests must wear can be white to glow in the dark awesomely.

Sweet 6teen Black Light Party
A black light party is a dance party. The party should be in a room or house that is very dark, and each light that is on, must be a black light!
If you were to rent a ballroom for the evening, you could rent a visual projection system to flash off cool colors and designs off of one of the large walls.
This is a cool idea that was used at a black light masquerade party in Vegas, so why not use this fantastic idea for your sweet 16 birthday party themes!
If you want the 6teen party to be a little less formal, you can make the masquerade into more of a Mardi Gras decorating fashion.
This is would make the party much more colorful and casual than a very fancy celebration. This is one of my favorite new sweet 16 party ideas!
For decoration, you could place happiness and tragedy masks as 6teen centerpieces on each table at the party. Separate the tables from the dance floor, and have tons of ultraviolet lights beaming down on the dance floor.
Make sure that you decorate with lots of white, and of course the very bright masquerade colors.
Use large beaded necklaces as decorations to drape, and have necklaces available for your guests to wear.
Make sure that every single person at your party is masked.
During the dinner, you can play The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack as soft background music.
If you have a boyfriend, a really cute idea would be for the two of you to be the Phantom and Christine for the evening.
If you decide to hire a DJ for your sweet 16 birthday party themes, have him/her remix some great techno beats with the phantom of the opera soundtrack.
Make sure that the house music overpowers the soundtrack however, so that everyone can dance and have a great time!
Put out glasses of tonic water at the dinner tables. This will glow under the ultraviolet lights. For the rest of the food, why not serve like a banquet?
Serve lots of delicious food and a big beautiful sweet 16 birthday cake. How much greater could your sweet 16 birthday party themes get?
Tape several large garbage bags together and splash glow in the dark paint all over your new tablecloth. You could also purchase a cheap table cloth that you don’t plan to use again for this. The paint will make the table cloth glow great..
Most importantly, make sure that every guest wears at least one white item or article of clothing. And make sure that every guest is masked!
Strobe lights or a disco ball are also awesome for this party. The more colors, the better! Make sure that everyone glows in the dark, but also make sure that there is tons of color action on the dance floor!
