sETTING A dATE

June 1st is my daughter's actual birthday and I wanted to set her sweet sixteen party on the 4th of June 2011, but that day has been booked at the banquet hall I care to book.

Would setting a date 2 weeks out or a month after her actual birthday, be fine?

Sure its fine, it's very common to have a party not on the actual date, but if it's more than two weeks later, a party is usually planned for before the actual birthday.

If it's less than two weeks after the birthday, then yes it's perfectly fine and great to throw the party after.
