My Formal Sweet 16 Back Yard Party

For my sweet 16 I threw a prom style party, where all of my friends were encouraged to bring a date. Everyone dressed up in nice dresses and the guys wore suits.

We threw the party in my backyard and hung Christmas lights all over the place. We also had helium balloons dangling from strings that were tied to the fence, and the balloons were all white. It looked really cool when it got darker out.

For food we barbecued steaks and burgers and we even had a camp fire when it got dark. Everyone loved the party, and it wasn't all that expensive. My dad hooked up the speakers to play outside so we had a dance after the dinner and a father daughter dance.

I am now planning a sweet 16 party for my little sister and I am trying to make it large and formal like mine was, but with a different theme to make the party unique.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I'm doing something like that and hanging the lights. I hope your sisters party is just as fun!

That sounds like a brilliant idea...my yard has a firepit and is quite spacious, as well as having artificial terf, so that would be perfect for me.
