Lots of ideas:)
My sweet 16 is coming up, and I don't know for sure yet what I want to do, but I have some ideas:)
1) PAINTBALL!!! This was my initial idea. I think it would be something new and different. Most girls have a girly sweet 16, which is fine, but I thought it would be interesting to ask people to show up in grass stained jeans and hoodies, ready to shoot their friends with a paintball gun!!!!!!
2) 3 words: ROOT BEER KEG. I love 1919 root beer, and I actually think the concept of a root beer keg is pretty funny:)
3) Dance party:) There are few things I love more than dancing. And this would be really easy; all you'd need is a computer, stereo, or iPod, a bunch of people, and a place to dance. And you could go all out and get an actual dance floor and a DJ. You could have dance-offs:)
4) Fall Party: This would work well because I have a fall birthday. I have this Martha Stewart magazine with TONS of fall recipes for drinks, desserts, main courses, hors d'oeuvres, etc, and they all look really good:) I could have pumpkins, corn, and hay for a more harvest-y theme, or I could have Halloween decorations and ask everyone to dress up:) A HAYRIDE would be super spectacular:)
5) CAMPING. This is a long shot because it's REEEALLY cold where I live by the time my birthday rolls around, but I could get a few close friends (I'm thinking 8 or 10) together and have a camp out, complete with a bonfire, marshmallows, campfire singing (another thing I absolutely love), and SCARY STORIES. And I could rent out a cabin at the camp where I go. It's really small and doesn't get used in the fall, and it's in a pretty cool place. Since I LOOOOVE camp (I'd live there if I could) this would be perfect for me. But we'll have to see.
6) Karaoke! I love karaoke:) It's fun and hilarious. I could get a bunch of really well-known songs (Livin' on a Prayer, Friday, Rock and Roll All Night, Dancing Queen, Fernando, We Are The Champions, etc) so everyone could sing.
*I'm not a huge fan of sleepovers because I value sleep so much, but I'm thinking about it:) The problem is, people get crabby and tired, and you just sit there watching a movie, which is something that you could do at home. Why come to my house and watch a movie when you can watch one at home? I know, I know... but you get my point.
