Joint Sweet 16 Party

I'm having a joint 16th with my friend, but we're having some difficulties planning it. Here are our main problems!

The venue - Both our houses are small, but I have a large backyard. We don't mind renting a hall, as long as the cost isn't too expensive! Our guest-list wont be huge, about 25ish.

The organisation - Who should organise what? How should we split the costs?

The theme - We like in Australia and our party will be in August, so that means it will be Winter. So we need a theme that's going to be easy to follow, and that's going to acknowledge the weather!

So no beach themes! We like the bohemian/hippy theme, and the dance party/colourful rave theme. Oh, we love the rainbow brite cartoon! What else would be cool to have?
