Same happened here. But friends and I decided to party anyway...we couldnt afford olive garden or any such thing so instead each person invited brought something for a dinner...
we had the most awesome spaghetti and garlic bread and dessert and we all worked together to make it happen.
And the best...the parents stayed out of the kitchen and we did all the cooking...really was great our my own Top Chef birthday....not the splashy stuff some other friends had but I gotta say we didnt have to dance, buy expensive dresses, or act all proper cause we were eating out or at a rented club.
Played the music loud, dished up the pasta, and sooo enjoyed the cheesecake and chocolate cake....cost me the two boxes of noodles and pasta sauce, everyone else brought something and passed the dishes....really totally the best.
