Budget and Space

by Sarah
(San Diego, CA)

So, I'm turning 16 on February 1st, and I really want a Sweet 16 that I won't ever forget, but my mom keeps nixing all my best ideas, because she says they're too expensive or that we don't have the space.

I really want to have an Alice in Wonderland themed party, but I can't figure out how to make it work without it costing too much money or seeming little kiddish.

I live in Southern California, so it won't be extremely cold, but February still isn't the best time of year for an outdoor party. I would like the theme to not be based so much on the original books as I would the newest rendition of the movie (Tim Burton) and the graphic novels Alice in the Country of Hearts.

Both add a rather interesting twist to the well known story that I would love to somehow incorporate into the mix.
