Bowling Party Invitations that are Creative, Craft, and Easy to Make!

Bowling invitations can come in all sorts of styles. You can really get crafty with designing your invitations. On this page you will find a few creative sweet sixteen invitations that I have come up with. Hope you enjoy!

CD Bowling Ball Invitation

So I thought and thought about how to come up with cool bowling party invitations, and I decided to make one without any real initial idea. I figured that a CD is round like a bowling ball, but it needs to be black. From this though began my invitation creative process. bowling party invitation Materials Used:

  • CD and paper CD sleeve
  • Black and white paint
  • Paintbrushes Glue and scissors
  • White sheet of construction paper
  • Markers

For this invitation I picked up individual CD’s with their own individual paper sleeve cases. I picked up some black and white paint and dollar store paint brush set.

I first painted the CD entirely black, leaving the hold in the middle as it was. I then cut two sides of the CD paper sleeve so it would open like a card.

I then painted the sleeve with the white paint, so it resembled the same white color and added texture to the invitation. I cut the plastic see through part of the sleeve right out so that you can feel the CD bowling ball before opening it.

It is totally optional if you want to paint the sleeve of your bowling party invitations white or not, as it already usually comes white. I just like the look of the texture. It makes it look even craftier.

I let the black CD and the sleeve sit to dry. I then took a white sheet of construction paper and drew out a design of a bowling pin. I made sure that the pins size would fit in perfectly with the sleeve. Basically you are only cutting out the top half of the pin you designed and gluing it to the sleeve.

I painted the pin with the same white paint, and added two stripes on the top of the pin for a classic bowling pin look using sharpie marker. I glued the finished half part of the pin to the inside of the CD sleeve. Then I cut the corners of the sleeve to give it a rounded edge.

I used a purple sharpie marker to color around the inside of the bowling ball. I also used the same marker for the front of the card. It is obvious that I am not good at printing. So keep this in mind, you can make your invites look a lot cuter.

I also came up with a bit of a cheesy slogan.

“You are invited to come and rollAs We bowl at my Super Sweet Sixteen Birthday Bash!”

I would suggest writing the details of the party right on the bowling ball, in white or a light enough color to see through the black. You can also stick a label right on the back CD and write the information right on there.

You can always write details for your sweet sixteen invitations on the opposite side of the pin, you should have half of a pin worth of writing space as well.

I hope you got some ideas out of this home made sweet sixteen invitation.

Bowling Shoe Sweet Sixteen Invitations

What is more of a classic symbolism to the bowling sport than the bowling shoes they make you wear? Why not make these as your invitations? They are super easy, and affordable to make.

Materials Needed:

  • Paper and pencil
  • Hole Puncher and scissors
  • Lace and different fabric colors

Draw a sketch of a shoe, the size that you would like your invitation to be.

Photocopy your sketch for the amount of invitations that you want (considering that you need 2 shoe cut outs per invitation).

Go to your local bargain or dollar store and pick up some colourful fabric.

Cut out strips of different fabric colors and glue them to your images of shoes to make bowling shoe invites.

Remember to make sure that you have 2 shoe drawings for each of your bowling party invitations, whole punch each of the shoes and tie the shoe pieces together with lace!

On the inside of each invite, give the parties details and information.

Good luck with your bowling party invitations and happy birthday!
